our friends, the laib’s ~ justin, courtney & cooper ~ came to visit us on their vacation all the way from illinois. we have known courtney for 11 years now. we met her the year gunnar was born. she immediately became a part of our family and we have done life together since. she has a beautiful family of her own now, and we were so excited that they decided to vacation with us here in huntersville!

we swam – a lot! oooh’d and ahhh’d over cooper – a lot! ate – a lot! laughed! reminisced! congratulated gunnar as he “graduated” from 5th grade.

celebrated june birthdays – gunnar {6/8}, justin {6/11}, tygar & cooper {both 6/23}. shame on me for not getting a picture of all the june birthday boys!

Ten on Ten ~ June 2011
my friend reeve encouraged me to participate in this photo project called ten on ten. you take a picture, every hour for 10 hours as you go about your day on the 10th of the month. i was excited to give it a try! here we go:
7:00 am ~ i took the boys to school today, their last day! as we were walking down the hall tygar said “i painted that turtle!”
8:00 am ~ tygar’s class play where he was one of 3 frogs, he’s the one on the right that’s blurry. he was a twirling frog at the time.
9:00 am ~ i got home from school and eden had added a tree branch to our flower arrangement.
10:00 am ~ washed some grapes
11:00 am ~ cleaned the bathroom
12:00 pm ~ browsed around on pinterest a little
1:00 pm ~ tried to take a nap {under my favorite blanket}
2:00 pm ~ school’s out for summer!! {they’re yelling “summer”!}
3:00 pm ~ swim time
4:00 pm ~ preparing dinner
the pool is open
i NEVER thought we would live in a house that had a pool. we are SO thankful for the friends that led us to this house. we are renting because we still own a home in chicagoland {if you know anyone looking to buy a house in the southwest suburb of lemont, let us know}. our landlord helped us get the pool ready for swimming, and last week during our spring break, we had our first swim. the water is chilly, but not chilly enough to keep us out. with teeth chattering, we had a blast.
tygar practicing. he’s either serious about learning how to swim or learning how not to drown. both are good things to learn.

stone above the water. and the next second…
…he decided to go under the water! this was a FIRST for him. he has gone up to his nose and has dipped his face in the water. but this time, he went all the way under, on his own! and i caught it by accident!
had to put this in here too! what a dad!
