A little update of our life through Instagrams:

In 3 days we head to the mountains of North Carolina to kick-off our Summer! The kids are bursting with excitement! My excitement kicks in when we pull out of the driveway. Between now and then, the to-do list is long with laundry to do and bags to pack.

It is always tough to finish strong this time of year, but we are proud of our boys & how they have dug in and are doing well in school.

Thursday night a few friends gathered to celebrate the upcoming wedding of our friends Ashley & Ryan. The next few months are going to full of celebrations for them leading up to their wedding day on 7.28.12!

Josh & Karrie Dobie came for a visit and I FAILED to take a single picture to document our time together! I can’t believe it! FAIL. We had a great time together, though – good chats & plenty of laughs – it needs to happen again SOON! We miss you guys already!

How many of you celebrated National Donut Day 6.1.12?

I tried Pho for the first time on Saturday night. Honestly, I had no idea it was soup until it was delivered. The menu said something like “rice noodles, onions, scallions, beef, shrimp, cooked in chicken broth”. I suppose the “cooked in chicken broth” should have been the clue for me that it was going to be soup. The waitress placed this HUGE bowl in front of me. I looked at Greg, clueless. We laughed. I googled “How Do I Eat Pho?” TGFG! {thank goodness for google!} The article said “the best way to attack a steaming bowl of pho is to have chopsticks in one hand and a soupspoon in the other. Take in a little broth with your spoon, slurp in some to get a taste of it. Follow it up with the rice noodles using your chopsticks. Then select pieces of ingredients from the bowl and enjoy them individually or together with the broth and noodle. Easy.” I made Greg take a picture of me. How about it Pho fans? Is this how you eat Pho?

My dear friend, Leanne, {read how our friendship started} treated me to a Spa Day for my birthday. Seriously, turning 40 is the best birthday I have EVER had! And I have the best friends around! Leanne and I carved out a huge chunk of the day to spend at Kohler Waters Spa in Burr Ridge, IL. It is an experience. Relaxing in white robes & lounging in the comfy chairs. I spent some time soaking in the Circle of Tranquility. It is as amazing as it sounds. Leanne and I have decided a trip to the spa should be seasonal for us. Completely reasonable, right? {After reading thru their website, it turns out cellular phones are prohibited inside the spa – oops! I hope they let me come back! I am a blogger & instagrammer so my phone goes everywhere with me. Surely, they’ll forgive me!}

Have a great week friends!
