It have missed the last few weeks of linking up to Gussy’s Inspiration Workshop because of traveling and catching up from traveling. The prompt for this week is YOUR FAVORITE COLOR.

Honestly I have a few favorite colors, but the one that always comes to mind first is PURPLE. Purple brings out childhood memories of my grandparents. Grape vines filled with purple grapes. Wisteria along the side of the house. This may seem strange, but the flower that I saved from my grandmother’s funeral is a little purple flower that I dried and keep it in a vase in my house. My husband and my kids know that purple is my favorite color and gave me the flowers in the photo above.

this week in gussy’s inspiration workshop the prompt is: BEACH

This inspiration was timely for me because we just got back from North Myrtle Beach. Our family was there with 40 middle school students. We had a blast! Below are a few glimpses into what we love most about the beach. I was inspired this week because for the first time, all of my kids LOVE the beach. In the past, there’s always been one that would rather spend time at the pool. But the love has spread to all of them now. That makes this momma happy!


As soon as we found where we were staying, we immediately drove to the beach and stood in awe and wonder!




Every trip to the beach has to include a round of putt-putt & a warm Krispy Kreme doughnut!


A few of the treasures that we found. Looking forward to the memories that will be made when we go back in a few weeks with my parents.

This week at Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop ~ the prompt is: SUNSHINE

The sunshine in the south this week has been brutally HOT! Sizzling and uncomfortable {heat index of 109 degrees!}. I have had moments where I have actually LONGED for winter! Don’t get me wrong, I love the sunshine, but it has been somewhat of a nemesis this week. I am thankful for air conditioning and the swimming pool. I’ve been immersed in both this week.

With that said, I took the following pictures with my iPhone {used Instagram, of course} of the beauty of SUNSHINE:

The sun was setting and a thunderstorm was coming. The rays of SUNSHINE are just beautiful. It’s almost like they are trying to capture the clouds.

My favorite time of the day is before everyone is up, my coffee is brewed, and i sit in our room of windows and watch the rays of SUNSHINE filter into the room. It’s quiet and lovely.

this week at gussy sews inspiration workshop ~ the prompt is : pamper yourself.

i do love a good, relaxing pedicure. but the way i pamper myself may seem a little different:

how do i pamper myself? i go for a long drive! we recently had to sell “joon” but any car will do. i suppose walking would be better for me, but put me in a car, behind the wheel, roll the windows down ~ or take the doors off, turn up the tunes, and drive. ahhhhh.

this week’s inspiration workshop prompt: bathroom

i have my best thoughts in the bathroom. it is my one true time when i’m alone, with my thoughts. i usually keep a post-it pad and pen in there to write things down so i don’t forget. it’s a joke between my husband and myself when i’m finished in the bathroom and i say “i have an idea!” he expects it now after all of these years together.

so, obviously i would love to have a bathroom that would be inspiring. i love this bathroom in the picture above. it’s simple, full of natural light, no distractions. i love the tile floor. the light pink walls and a clawfoot tub – what girl wouldn’t love that? all inspiring ~ where the thoughts would flow as i’m soaking away in a clawfoot tub, staring out a window, dreaming, pondering, praying.
