the rest of the story
the rest of the weekend was wonderful! the weather was unlike the usual weather this time of year. it was sunny, high 70s, no humidity. beautiful. we walked all over the city. took a few cabs here and there. highlights were: purchasing an iPhone for greg (a gift from a few connections that i made for him), nike store purchase, lunch in millennium park, shopping along belmont & clark, blue man group, most delicious prime rib that greg has EVER had at rosebud steakhouse, walking along lake shore drive as the sun set, navy pier ferris wheel at night, fireworks, breakfast at lou mitchell’s, taste of chicago. most amazing highlight: being with greg for 48 hours! lowlights: cereality was closed! i was so bummed. apparently they were doing some construction, which the website said nothing about. lesson learned. always call! dumb lowlight on my part: wearing the wrong shoes when we walked along belmont & clark then to the navy pier. silly ct. wear comfy shoes when you are in the city! liz, if you’re reading this…we must make lou mitchell’s a stop for the reunion. delicious breakfast!
karrie of course kept things going wonderful here at home. the boys did do a few mischievious things (like dumping their water bottles on the downstairs carpet then walking on the carpet then the concrete floor just so they could see their footprints!) but overall it was ok. there may be some things karrie didn’t tell us:) everyone was excited to see us except eden cried when i took her from karrie’s arms! that made me feel a little guilty for leaving her, but, only for a second! we had a wonderful weekend and had mixed emotions coming home. we were excited to see our kids, but sad our alone time was over. until the next time.
