I Dare You to Purge
It’s Sunday. Set aside an hour today & go through your closet, your garage & any place in your home that’s causes you to panic because of the clutter {maybe it’s your purse!}.
Purge 10 items.
It could be 10 total items. Or it could be 10 items from each, so a total of 30 items.
You ask, “Why?” I reply, “Why Not?”
Living your life surrounded by clutter can be debilitating. It can be difficult to take steps forward when you are always surrounded by things that make you continue to second guess why you have them in the first place.
Our family does this about once a month. Since there are 6 of us, the clutter can accumulate quickly. We grab 2 trash bags. One is for trash & one is for Goodwill donations. If it’s a Saturday & the weather is nice, purge day could turn into an impromptu garage sale.
Take some advice from my friend, Tsh:
There is indescribable freedom to owning only what you truly, really, honestly need. I’ll take that beauty over the risk of “but what if?” any day. I’m now thinking of the local thrift stores as my storage units. If I need that thing, I’ll just go buy it. But odds are, I probably won’t, and I’m exchanging that risk for a more clutter-free life.
I want to live a clutter-free life. I bet you do as well.
For extra credit – You could purge people in your life that are a bad influence or leading you in the wrong direction. Purge some people today. Start your purge & streamline your inputs of social media.
By purging people, you become the friend you should be.
Happy purging on this lovely Sunday.
See you tomorrow for another Truth!

I’m a big fan of purging. Sometimes I even purge other people’s stuff, like my husbands. He’ll thank me later:) Time to get purging!

I do this all the time for my kids & there have only been a few times they’ve noticed! 😉

I had Eric purge his closet. It didnt take long. He usually just purges the things on his floor. Easier for him to give to goodwill, than launder and hang back up.

For probably the first time in my life, I don’t need to do this. my husband and I just moved overseas with just a suitcase and carry-on apiece filled with whatever we deemed most necessary–it’s a surreal feeling to live with really no clutter and no extras, but it wouldn’t have made sense to carry along stuff we never used anyway!
