Truth: What is your guilty pleasure?
This answer may seem a little lame but I love to go to the movies alone. And it doesn’t happen very often. I guess because I feel guilty about it. Up until last year, my alone time was minimal. Now that all my kids are in school from 8:15 am until 2:15 pm, I told myself I would go to the movies once a month. I have been once. Well, almost twice {more on that in a bit}.
There was one problem. The movies theaters in our area only have matinee movies during the week on Fridays. I guess that makes sense, but that limited my movie watching days to once a month on a Friday & to find a Friday that didn’t have anything else on the schedule was a little challenging.
Finally, there was a movie that was in the theater that I wanted to see – Divergent! – and I had a free Friday morning. Yay! I went to the theater, purchased my ticket, a bag of peanut M&M’s & a Sprite. I was ready for 2+ hours of uninterrupted movie entertainment. We were 15 minutes into the movie & guess what? The power went out! For no reason whatsoever! It was just a random power outage. I sat there in disbelief for a few minutes thinking to myself, “Sure, I finally go to the movies alone & here’s my punishment!” & the guilt sets in. There are so many other things I could be doing with that 2.5 hour time span. But you know what? I’m ok with that. Out of all the guilty pleasures I could have, going to watch a movie alone once in a while isn’t that big of a deal.
I took the voucher they gave me & went back a few weeks later & finally saw the movie.
That was May. It’s time for another matinee. Gone Girl? I think that’s a movie I should watch during the daytime anyway…
Sippin’ on some 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon … with a couple good friends.
Why is it my guilty pleasure? Because the going rate on the street for a bottle of one of the best bourbon’s in the world is running about $1000.00 a bottle.
So if you want to enjoy this guilty pleasure with me… bring your own Pappy.
What is your guilty pleasure??

Reality tv shows, like Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Real World, all the shows on HGTV. I am in a bad habit of getting home from work watching one of these shows and then taking a nap, when I should be doing house chores or running errands.
