Truth: If you had only 24 hours left to live, what would you do?
I would gather my family & closest friends and spend the day at one of my favorite places – the beach. From sunrise to sunset, we would make drippy castles, ride the waves & take a few long walks to search the surf for seashells. As the sun was setting, we would build a big fire & gather around it, roast some hot dogs & s’mores. Then we would go around the circle taking turns telling each other what we love about that person & maybe a favorite memory. We would laugh a lot & maybe shed a few tears & think ahead to the next time that we would all see each other again.
I’d probably spend much of my time preparing. Preparing to meet my God… and preparing my family for life without me.
I’d finalize my will… and plan my funeral.
I’d say goodbye to my family, and prepare them best I could in the short time left. Sounds sad, but I guess my “job” or “the way I’m wired” is to make sure my family is taken care of.
I’d FaceTime my family members out of state… as well as a couple close friends… to say “see ya later”.
Then I’d cook one of my favorite dinners for for family.
* I’d smoke a fresh Alaskan Salmon Filet with some freshly cut peach wood from Georgia…
* I’d grill some fresh Maryland sweet corn (on the cob)… with some fresh melted butter…
* I’d ask Caroline to make my favorite pasta salad…
* and I’d make some homemade vanilla ice cream.
I’d then sit around the table and eat with my family talking about all the great times we had together… and give them some final advice about life here on earth… as well as what’s really important.
I’d tuck my kids into bed one last time, give them kiss, and then I’d sit on my back porch with Caroline holding hands and sipping some Pappy Van Winkle until I went “home”.
How you would spend the last 24 hours of your life?

Why am I in tears? Was this the purpose of this question.I hate to think of my life without you 2.

My answer is similar to Greg’s. I’d spend part of the time getting things prepared for when I was going to be gone so my family isn’t scrambling. Then I’d spend time with my closest family and friends…just soaking up the time together.

FIRST THOUGHT WOULD BE WHO ME? READY OR NOT– HERE I COME
FOLKS SEE YOU SOON. BUT MUST CLOSE FEW DOORS DOWN HERE.
I WOULD FIND MYSELF A GOLDEN POND WITH GREAT BIG LOG CABIN WITH HUGE FIREPLACE AND ENOUGH WOOD FOR 24HOURS.
WOULD INVITE BILLO, LIBBY,BOB THEIR FAMILY. CAROLINE,DAVID THEIR FAMILIES, WAYNE AND TOP NOTCH CATERER. WOULD TAKE EACH PERSON INDIVIDUALLY ROWING IN LITTLE BOAT. THERE WE WOULD DISCUSS WHERE WE WE ARE IN OUR LIVES–WHAT MATTERS NOW–WHAT MATTERS IN THE FUTURE. IF WE HAVE SERIOUS DIFFERENCES — DEAL WITH THEM WHILE WHILE WE ROW THE BOAT. TELL EACH PERSON HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO ME. SHARING ROMANS 12TH CHAPTER . (Jesus Christ is to be The Lord of their lives). PUT ALL THAT CHAPTER HOLDS DURING THEIR LIVES, THEN ROWING YOUR OWN BOAT OF LIFE WILL BE LESS COMPLICATED.
NEXT WE WOULD DO OUR BEST TO KEEP WAYNE AWAKE SO HE COULD TAKE A RIDE WITH ME IN THE WAITING HOT AIR BALOON .THERE WE WOULD SAY OUR LAST GOOD BYS. THEN HE HEARD ME SAY TOODLE.
HE WOULD RETURN AND TELL YOU I JUMPED AND FOR YOU ALL TO BURN EVERY STICK OF FIREWOOD,EAT ALL THE FOOD, BE DEVOTED TO ONE ANOTHER IN SINCERE TRUE NOT PRETENSE LOVE BUT TO LOVE ALL PEOPLE.
WOULD HOPE WAYNE WOULD BE ENCOURAGED BY EACH OF YOU AND THAT HE WOULD LIVE TO SEE EVEYONE ROWING THEIR OWN BOAT MERRILY MERRILY WHEREVER IT TAKES THEM IN THEIR OWN LIVES.
