I love Compassion International.
Greg and I have known about Compassion for a long time, but it wasn’t until a few of my friends traveled with them that I was compelled to become a sponsor. Did you know that Compassion started in the 1950s because of one man’s vision? 60 years of releasing children from the grip of poverty.
Can you do me a favor? Can you go here and read this post from May 2012? I’ll still be here when you come back.
Thank you.
My friends, Myquillyn & Maggie, who both hate to fly on airplanes, said yes to travel with a team of bloggers to Tanzania with Compassion. That’s a long time to spend on a plane & away from your family & the comforts of home. They said yes. It was a big deal, but in the full scheme of life, it was a week. They gave up a week so that you and I could get a small glimpse into an organization that is changing lives.
Because they said yes, as you know if you read the May 2012 post, {what! you haven’t read it yet!?! I’m a patient person, I’ll wait} Elizabeth is a part of our family now. We write her letters & send pictures & stickers and of course support her with our monthly donation. We pray for her & her family. Maybe one day we’ll have an opportunity to meet her, but for now, we will make sure she knows she is loved & prayed for each day.
