Today I’m going to Speak Love, in A Million Little Ways.
Or
In A Million Little Ways, I’m going to Speak Love.
It works both ways!
Annie & Emily, the women that wrote these books are filled with life, truth & laughter.
They write the way they live & that to me is one of the reasons I read a book.
I’m honored to call them friends and I’m also beyond excited to offer one of you an opportunity to own both of these books. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find out how.
Speak Love ~ Making Your Words Matter
Annie is living in the trenches of hanging out with college & high school students. She loves them fiercely & passionately. That same passion and fierceness comes through in this book, encouraging the reader to pay attention to the words that come out of their mouth. Your words matter, so when you speak, use words that speak life. Do you know a Mean Girl? Are you the Mean Girl? Or are you a silent spectator of the Mean Girl? This book is for you. It’s for students, parents, friends. {hey! if you are reading this in an email, click over to see the video!}

A Million Little Ways – Uncover the Art You Were Made to Live
I am halfway through this book. I wanted to finish before today but I had a slight delay of a few days after reading page 45. I actually slammed the book shut & started to cry. Apparently it dug deep into my heart & I needed a few days to let the question she asked on page 45 to sink in as I began to uncover my art. She encourages you to think about a time in your life when you felt fully alive. At first, my mind went blank, I started to cry & then 3 things came to my mind. 1) wedding day; 2) children being born; & 3) shooting range. So my first thoughts are “Lace, Babies & Guns.” Ha!
I’m not 100% sure what that says about me uncovering the art I was made to live but I’m working on it & I’m enjoying the journey. Any book that generates an emotional response from me {which is rare} is one I pay attention to and know I want to take my time to let the words sink in deep.
So, what is that thing that makes you come alive? That’s your art. Uncover it. Share it.

I am so excited to be joining the Bloom book club to read along with Emily Freeman’s book!
My personal favorite book is When Your World Falls Apart by David Jeremiah. He explores and gives in depth explanation of a few of the Psalms from the perspective of walking through cancer diagnosis and treatment. So many times God used David Jeremiah’s words to speak directly to my struggles at that time.

Hmm, my favorite book of all time would have to be Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning. It was one of those books that I read at just the right time for where I was at in life 🙂

I have a lot of favorite books, but the one that popped into my mind just now was A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I have read and re-read it so many times, the first time when I was about 13. 🙂

One of my favorite books is “Love & Respect” by Dr. Emerson Eggerich. My husband read it the second year we were married and it made such an impact on him I read it as soon as he was finished. It absolutely transformed our marriage.
