31 Days of Love & Hate :: Day 10 ~ The Dobie Dream

October 10, 2013 By Caroline TeSelle

I love dream chasers.

A few months ago I discovered that I am a dream cheerleader! Whenever someone I know shares a dream with me, it immediately sends a goosebump alarm through my entire body & I start thinking about what I can do to help or encourage them.

Today I want to tell you about Josh & Karrie Dobie.

If you have been a reader of my blog for a while, you have heard countless stories about these two.  Next month they will celebrate their 3 year anniversary.  They are two special people for our family.  Well, they are family now.

I love dream chasers & these two fill that category.  A seed of adventure was planted in their hearts and at the end of this month, in about 3 1/2 weeks, they are embarking on their biggest adventure yet…

dobie_rvThey sold a bunch of their stuff! They bought a RV! They’re moving to a new city!

Crazy dream chasers! Yes, they know this is a huge risk & they have had thoughts of “this is crazy!” a few times, but their desire to follow this dream & realization that the experience far outweighs the risk for them keeps them going.

How many of us have wanted to do something like this but couldn’t follow through with the idea because of one excuse or another?  Yes, I realize not everyone has a dream of living in a RV but what is holding you back from taking a step towards making your dream a reality?

Dream chasers need encouragement regardless if it takes 9 years or a few months.

You will not want to miss their updates so make sure you follow their adventures & subscribe to their blog posts {there’s a place to sign up on their blog the right hand side}.

Jesus endured the cross for us and considered it joy. ⁣

How can we experience true joy? Joy that outlasts the turmoil of 2020? Joy that surpasses all understanding? Joy that isn’t stolen by a diagnosis? One answer: Jesus. ⁣

May your true joy be made more complete this Christmas by remembering what Jesus has done for you.

Four days ago, I quoted the comforting words of @s Four days ago, I quoted the comforting words of @shellymillerwriter as I was contemplating the past three weeks of healing for Eden’s hip surgery. ⁣
⁣
Shelly passed away on Sunday night. Please click over to her profile and read her husband’s words about her passing...“As we grieve, we do so with hope.”⁣
⁣
Today, as I drive northwest to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for another round of follow-up appointments, Shelly’s words continue to be a balm to my soul...⁣
⁣
“When all the ways in which we find our identity have been stripped away, we stand like barren branches in a posture of surrender awaiting God’s next move.⁣
⁣
“Our purpose is to glorify God, not by doing more for him but simply being with him; trusting God rather than trusting in circumstances lining up.⁣
⁣
“Our greatest certainty in life is God’s presence and help.”⁣
⁣
I’m clinging to that certainty today. Thank you, Shelly. Rest well.
“It is when we are at rest that we hear the voic “It is when we are at rest that we hear the voice of God echoing over our worry.” @shellymillerwriter⁣
⁣
The echoes of God have been loud and clear during the past three weeks since Eden’s surgery. The echoes of prayers. The echoes of friendship. The echoes of healing. Worry has not held a place here and we are extremely thankful. 💛
