Allume. A three day social media conference in Harrisburg, PA. How am I going to tie this post into Rest & Risk? It’s full of opportunities of both.
A place where you hear things like:
“Write what you’re passionate about.” Erin Ulrich {RISK}
“You make an impact when you speak honestly about the right thing, right people, right experiences at the right time.” Annie Downs {RISK}
“Don’t be a fuss-maker!” Gussy Sews {RISK}
“Rest in the midst of the undone.” Nester {REST}
“Your photography is a love letter to your children & generations to come.” Darcy {REST & RISK}
“Sometimes, avoiding comparison isn’t as much about self-protection as it is about loving other people.” Jessica Heights {REST}
“You have to bury your fear in faith. Otherwise you bury your talents.” Ann Voskamp {RISK}
A few more highlights ::
I was blown away as I heard one of my dear friends talk about her passion. {RISK}
Laugh until your belly hurts & tears fall. Thank you Reeve, Maggie, Dee, Lindsey, Nester & Tracey. {REST}
Don’t be afraid to ask the tough questions & don’t be surprised if they ask back. {RISK}
Be brave & go up to someone you admire & thank them for the work they have done. {RISK}
In closing, even though there are overwhelming moments of “Oh my goodness! there are SO MANY women in this room!” there are moments of “Wow, I am so glad I met this person” etc. The overwhelming feelings are outweighed by the presence of so many like-minded women who love Jesus. Oh, and a few men this year! Phil Vischer and Darren Rowse along with a few husbands of some of the speakers.
