Today I’d like to introduce you to Gunnar. He is our oldest child and turned eleven in June. When I told him I was going to write about him today, he made me promise to not put any baby pictures up. I will keep my promise to save him from embarrassment.
My interview with Gunnar:
What do you want to be when you grow up? A football player because it’s my favorite sport and I like to play it.
What is your favorite food? BBQ ribs
What is your favorite drink? Dr. Pepper
What is your favorite dessert? Heavenly Turds!
What is your favorite movie? Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (the Johnny Depp one)
Do you have a girlfriend? No, Mom!
Do you have a bestfriend? I have 9.
What is one word that describes your mom? Happy.
What is one word that describes your dad? Awesome.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? Play with my friends.
Do you like to play sports? Yes – look at the answer to the first question, Mom!
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? China. I’ve never been there before and it would be cool to see and talk to people because you can’t understand what they’re saying.
Do you have a question that you would like to ask God? When am I going to die?
What are a few things that I can tell you about Gunnar?
He is loyal. He laughs like his Pop. He can beat me in a 50 yard dash. He’s a meat-a-tarian. Like me, he quietly observes. Like his dad, he loves people. Quickly growing up into an amazing young man. Too quick.

What 31 Dayers are you following? I just added another one to my reader list:
~ 31 Ways to Wrap Your Crap {best title ever!}
Coming up tomorrow here on 31 Days of Our Lives? A favorite family meal: Walking Tacos!
I can totally hear his voice in the interview. LOVE IT! so glad that heavenly turds are so popular in your house:) I’ll have to make them again soon!
yes please! we need more heavenly turds in our life!
This is so awesome! Interviewing your son! I haven’t interviewed my oldest (he is 11 also) since he was 5 and dressed as Jeff Gordon every day (halloween costume – he wore it until the thing was so tight I was afraid I would be arrested, very bad mama).
I am following your series – bring on the Bieber!
xoxo michele
thanks for following along! my second oldest used to wear a “tail” everywhere when he was 2-4. it is fun to watch them grow up and out of the different stages of life they go through and letting them be themselves along the way.
I think I am really emotional right now but I keep crying as I read these. This one especially because I loved the time I got to spend with Gunnar in West Des Moines when he was just 18 mos old. I wish we got to spend more time together now.
You and Gunnar would get along great! Actually ~ all my kids would love the heck out of you and your kids! And Blake too:) p.s. Gunnar and Tygar have been wearing your pink bracelet to school since they arrived. They have no shame wearing pink because they know the meaning behind it. Makes this momma proud!
I love his responses to the questions about you guys. I hope my kids have similiar responses when they are older.
