31 Days of Our Lives could not be complete without introducing you to Kristin. Today just happens to be her birthday…Happy Birthday woman!
I do not talk about her much on here because she is a very private person. She has an iPhone and chooses not to send text messages. Crazy, right? But I love her for it, even though it makes it difficult to get in touch with her sometimes!
I have known Kristin since junior high. Here’s a funny fact: we were both a little annoyed with each other when we first met. I moved away to West Virginia with my parents {when I was 16} and I came to Myrtle Beach for a week in the summer of ’89 and met up with my old youth group and Kristin was there. We had just finished our junior year of high school and for some reason, we hit it off and immediately became friends. During our senior year of high school, we would write letters to each other and talk on the phone to keep in touch.
Kristin’s strong faith and friendship has been a huge part of my life journey. There was one summer when I was in a miry pit ~ she (and her family) sacrificed a lot that summer to help me reconcile my squandered faith and friendships.
The hard part now is that we have lived in different states for 13 years. Maybe one day we’ll live close again. In the meantime, we plan yearly trips to see each other and talk when we can. Perhaps this post will encourage her to finally get with the rest of the world and start texting!
I love you Kristin and your beautiful family!
