last week i went on a little drive. alone. the boys were at school and eden was at home with greg. i had a little time to myself and drove around. sometimes i just drive. sometimes i stop and explore. this time, i decided to drive down neck road to check out historic rural hill. i knew i didn’t have enough time to go on a tour, perhaps another time. and i didn’t have my “big girl camera” a.k.a. “Nanney” with me, just my iPhone, because i wasn’t really expecting to take some pictures on my little drive. (yes, i gave my nikon d100 a name. we name our cars & motorcycles around here, so i decided to name my camera. Nanney is my mom’s maiden name). so, lesson learned – next time i go for a “little drive”, bring Nanney. i did manage to take a few shots with my iphone. i had to. and here they are:



it’s a one lane dirt road and there wasn’t anyone else on the road so i stopped, remembered to put the car in park and stood out my sun roof and took this one.



this is the gate to the cemetery. i wanted to walk around but for some reason i chose to wear a dress and heels that day (which i never do) and i didn’t bring a jacket. so, two lessons learned when i go for a “little drive” in the future: 1 – bring Nanney and 2 – dress ready for an adventure.



this was the rock wall surrounding the cemetery. the tree in the background sort of messes up the picture so try not to let your eye lead you away from the beautiful amber colored rocks.
